April 2008
As soon as April came it was back on that plane heading west. We had a few days by ourselves before our first visitor arrived. Melvyn's brother, Ken spent a week with us...his first visit since coming to decorate when we first bought the condo. Mevyn and he spent quite a lot of time golfing, which felt good for me as I always feel guilty at not being interested in playing golf so leaving Melvyn without a partner. We celebrated Melvyn's birthday with friends round for drinks, before I flew off to California to meet up with Liz, Allison and Phil who were visiting Caroline and family...all Farley Hill folk. I had a lovely time there, walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, having my first ever visit to the Rain Forest Cafe and seeing Alcatraz. Caroline's family made us so welcome that the time went by too quickly.
Once I'd returned to Florida and Ken had gone home, it was time to meet Carole and Clem. We had a short break going south to the Everglades, Miami and Key West. We arrived back in St Pete in time to watch the local baseball team (The Rays) beat the Boston Red Sox 3 times ...virtually unheard of and much to Clem's chagrin.
